Up at the Maritzburg Musician's Club on February 3 will be Brett
Cox and J3 - Jenkins Cubed!
Brett Cox is a young talented artist who has been playing
for over a decade, appearing at White Mountain, MMC and at various venues
around KZN. He spent some years playing with Roly Struckmeyer, and can now be
seen sharing a stage with other familiar, well-known PMB and Durban artists.
Brett delivers a show of classic favourites from bands such as Pearl Jam, Live
and Smashing Pumpkins.
J3 - offering a combination of differing styles and
techniques, in a collaboration between cousins David (aka Qadasi - a rising
Maskandi artist) and Simon (a keen folk rock musician) and Ant Jenkins (their
uncle and father), of the Bifocals. Focusing on acoustic sounds on guitars and
banjo, together with vocal harmonies, this threesome performs covers and
originals with a difference.
The performance takes place on February 3 at 20h00 at The
Red Door in Pietermaritzburg. Tickets R40. The home of the Maritzburg Musicians
Club, The Red Door is situated in Quarry Rd, off Victoria Road, in
