(Rob Warren with Clare
McIlroy, Gareth Gale & Garth Warren)
Welcome to Folsom Prison and get ready to hear songs about
prison, trains, guns, love and heartache when Rhumbelow Theatre, Westville and
Pietermaritzburg present The Johnny Cash
Tribute. The country and rock ‘n roll show has played to sold-out audiences
in Durban and is back by popular demand.
The talented line-up features Rob Warren, who lets the music
do all the talking as the Man in Black, showcasing his expertise on the guitar
and encompassing low pitch vocals that fit perfectly with the Cash sound.
Joining Rob is his brother Garth Warren on bass and vocals, Gareth Gale rocking
out on the drums and Clare McIlroy who takes on the role of June Carter with an
irresistible upbeat country performance.
Rob Warren and the spirit of the band play tribute to Johnny
Cash with songs including The Ring of
Fire, Boy Named Sue, Folsom Prison Blues, Man in Black, Cry Cry Cry and Walk the Line. As well as songs with
June Carter such as Jackson, It Ain't Me
Babe and Juke Box Blues.
