The next Friends of Music recital takes place on February 10
and will feature violinist Yi-Jia Susanne Hou (Canada) and pianist Bryan Wallick
(South Africa).
Yi-Jia Susanne Hou is the first violinist to capture three
Gold Medals with unanimous Juries. Lord Yehudi Menuhin described her as
‘absolutely phenomenal……’ Bryan Wallick returns to the Friends of Music stage
as collaborative pianist. He is known
for his dazzling piano technique. Their programme will include works by Brahms,
Schubert, Prokofiev, Danna and Saint-Saƫns.
The Prelude Performer for the evening will be trumpeter Celi
Ngema accompanied by Anne Muir.
The recital takes place at 19h30 on February 10 at the
Durban Jewish Centre. There will be a pre-concert talk related to the main
recital at 18h30.
