top-class Stand-Up Comedy show featuring Deep Fried Man (Johannesburg) – South Africa’s
top musical comedian alongside Durbanites Jem Atkins and
Neil Green.
Deep Fried Man blends folk, rap, parody and as many as six
guitar chords into his own hilarious and sometimes controversial brand of
musical satire. In his first three years as a comedian, he has won a Comics
Choice Award and been nominated for three more, made a host of television and
film appearances, and is currently in his fourth season as a permanent cast
member on the Emmy Nominated and Safta-winning satirical show - Late Nite News With Loyiso Gola.
Jem Atkins, who is also the host for the evening, is a
regular on the Durban Comedy scene, he is riding high on the success of his
one-man shows – Single Dad and Single Dad II. He has performed all over
the country with some of the biggest names in the industry.
As the support act, Neil Green is easily one of Durban’s
funniest and most accomplished comedians. His sharp wit, commanding stage presence,
packed-out one-man shows (I’m Ill)
and hilariously honest take on life have won him legions of fans throughout.
The Comedy Night takes place on February 14 at 20h30 at Venue:Mozambik,
