The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway re-unites three of the
greatest groups of all time, on one stage, to say Thank You for the Music
from ABBA, the Bee Gees and Queen from March 11 to April 19.
ABBA, Queen and The Bee Gees are three of the most
influential pop and rock groups of all time. This brilliant Barnyard Theatre
Production takes audiences on a trip back through space and time, when glitz,
glam and some of the greatest pop tunes ever written emerged in the 70’s and
the 80’s.
Thank You for the Music features an
11-piece cast that covers all the hits of the three super groups starting with
the early days of The Bee Gees in the late 60’s, with harmonic soft rock hits
such as Words, I’ve Gotta Get a Message to You, Massachusetts and To
Love Somebody. It then moves on to the authentic impersonation of the Gibb
Brothers falsetto as they go on to re-ignite the disco groove with hits like You
Should Be Dancing, Stayin’ Alive and Jive Talking.
The show then features songs from the days when ABBA
lit up the music scene with their first hits Ring, Ring and Waterloo,
after which time they followed on with countless pop anthems such as Chiquitita
, SOS, Mamma Mia, Take A Chance On Me, as well as the powerful ballads such
as The Winner Takes it All and Eagle .
Thank You for the Music then pays
tribute to one of the greatest rock bands of all time – Queen - featuring one
of the greatest voices in the history of rock - Freddie Mercury. Featuring
uplifting anthems like Don’t Stop Me Now to thought-provoking ballads
like Too Much Love Will Kill You, and power anthems like We Are The
Champions, Who Wants To Live Forever and The Show Must Go On.
The show also pays tribute to the Broadway musicals
associated with these groups by celebrating the hits from Mamma Mia,
Saturday Night Fever and We Will Rock You. Experience the power of
the epic Bohemian Rhapsody; the fun of Gimme, Gimme, Gimme (A
Man After Midnight), Dancing Queen and I Want To Break Free; and
the beauty of How Deep Is Your Love and Tragedy.
Thank You for the Music is about
showmanship, charisma, harmony and the power of three pop and rock groups that
all come together in one mind-blowing concert.
