WHEN MY EYES ARE OPEN

When my eyes are open is another visual arts venture for Grace Kotze Projects which will be housed in the Breathing Space, 191 Bulwer Road over this coming weekend only. This is a beautiful venue, centrally placed and open to all.

Curated by Grace Kotze, the exhibition features work by Jenny Parsons, Megan Bonnetard, Pamela Benporath, Vuli Nyoni, Melody French, Alex Hamilton, Sarah Richards, Dane Stops, Louise Jennings, Jeannie Kinsler, Marlene De Beer, Grace Kotze, Karen Bradtke, Deidre Maree, Ashley Viljoen, Pascale Chandler and Kim Longhurst. Works include bronze sculptures, Ceramic works, paintings, collage, printmaking, woodwork, stencil art and drawings.

 “We live in a beautiful world that presents us with the most incredible array of creatures/plants/landscapes etc. which are further added to by the manner in which humanity has altered our environment,” explains Kotze. “When my eyes are open is an exhibition which explores the individual artists’ vision of the intriguing and captivating world in which we reside. Some opt for a sensual approach to embrace the juicy visual world while others examine the world in a more analytical approach. These are only two viewpoints but the show boasts unique and intriguing outlooks from each artist’s in their chosen field.

The exhibition will be opened on March 27 at 18h30 and patrons are invited to join the artists for a glass of wine and a chance to view an exciting diverse range of art at very affordable prices. All are welcome.

There will be a walkabout on March 28 at 11h00 which is open to the public, offering an opportunity to meet the artists and listen to them talk first-hand about the creative process and their work.

When my eyes are open will be open on March 27 (18h30 to 21h30), March 28 (10h00 to 16h00) and March 29 (10h00 to 14h30). The Breathing Space is situated at 191 Bulwer Road, Glenwood, Durban.
