RSPA Theatre School
Performing Arts has announced the opening of registrations for its first ever
Performing Arts Bush Camp. This camp is open to any high school learner; you
don’t need to be a student of RSPA.
The camp will run from
July 6 to 12 at the Hella Hella Outdoor Centre and will be facilitated by RSPA
teachers. The camp covers three performance areas: acting, singing and dancing.
The objective of the camp is to stage a multi-disciplined, student devised,
production on the final day.
International vocal
coach and Broadway star Moya Angela from New York will join the 2015 RSPA
Theatre School Performing Arts Bush Camp training team to run the vocal
programme. A classically trained vocalist who lives and breathes music and
music education, she attended Kentucky State University in Frankfort, Kentucky,
and studied Music Education. She went on to star in various roles on Broadway
such as Ghost The Musical, The Lion King, and Dreamgirls for which she received the 21st Annual NAACP Theatre
Award- Best Lead Female, Equity, in a musical as well as Television appearances
in 30 Rock.
“Moya is a huge
asset to the RSPA Camp not only due to her skills as a vocal coach but her
Broadway experience combined with the contacts she has made over her years
performing on Broadway has the opportunity to open lots of new doors for
students who study with RSPA Theatre School,” says RSPA director Gill Brunings.
It is hoped that the
camp will become an annual feature in the RSPA calendar. To request a
