Jazzart Dance Theatre’s 3-Year Dance Training Programme Open
Auditions will take place at Artscape Theatre in Cape Town on June 8.
Jazzart Dance Theatre is acknowledged as one of South
Africa’s leading contemporary dance theatre companies. Jazzart has been built
on a 40 year history of transformative practice which challenged the dance
status quo through innovative performance and training. Now, through
inter-disciplinary collaborations with a diverse range of creators and artists,
the company pursues creative excellence through socially impactful productions
and development executed by multi-talented dancers to challenge industry and
societal stereotypes. Jazzart’s vision is to be a transformative contemporary
African dance theatre company rooted in a deep and reflective understanding of the
world.
Trainees must be at least 17 years old and have completed
Grade 12 (or equivalent). Bring a copy of your ID and Matric Certificate.
Wear comfortable clothes. No shoes are needed. No prior
dance training is required.
The auditions will take place on June 8 at the Jazzart
Studio (report to Stage Door), Artscape Theatre, 5th Floor, Cnr Hertzog
Boulevard, DsF Malan Street, Cape Town. Call-backs will take place on June 9
and 10.
