PLATFORM JAZZ @ DGC

Durban Girls College will present Platform Jazz in a Cocktail Hour Performance at DGC on May 20 with DGC On the Rise performers from 18h00 to 18h30.

Platform Jazz have established themselves as a popular and entertaining swing-and jazz band, and will be presenting a shortened version of their recent hit show Swingtime, featuring swing hits from the 1920s to 1950s. This is an evening not to be missed!  Platform Jazz CDs for sale during the evening.

Platform Jazz members include Cathy Peacock on trumpet and band leader, Duncan Wooldridge on trombone, Jeff Judge on alto sax, Kirsten Sayers on clarinet, Andreas Kappen on double bass, Melvin Peters on piano, Bruce Baker on Drums and Shelley McLean on vocals.

Platform Jazz will perform from 18h30 to 20h00 on May 20 in the Miller Grove Functions room, Durban Girls’ College. Entrance through Miller Grove and secure parking on the field. Tickets R60 (R40 pensioners) and children under12 free available at the door from 17h00 onwards. No advance booking needed, but arrive early to secure good seats.  Bring your own refreshments and snacks.  Complimentary tea, coffee and rusks served before and after the show.
