(Prabhudheva who plays
Vishnu)
Join Ster-Kinekor this weekend for the release of the
high-energy Bollywood film, ABCD 2.
This energetic 3D dance film from Disney promises to have audiences dancing in
the aisles and singing along to the music, when it is screened at
Ster-Kinekor's Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Durban on June 19.
ABCD 2 is the
sequel to the popular 2013 film ABCD: Any
Body Can Dance.
For Vishnu (Prabhudheva), widely regarded as India's best
dancer, dance is more than a passion - it's the reason he lives. So, when he
finds himself thrown out of the dance academy that he himself set up, by his
manipulative business partner, it feels as if the oxygen has been sucked out
from the air he breathes.
Heartbroken, Vishnu decides to give up dance and leave
Mumbai. However, the night before his departure, he witnesses an amazing sight:
a group of dancers preparing for the upcoming Ganpati Dance Battle, an annual
festival that pits Mumbai's best dance groups against each other. Watching the
raw talent of these amazing dancers helps Vishnu arrive at a decision - he will
take this group under his wing, help them overcome their personal rivalries and
past demons, and turn them into India's best dance squad!
As they travel to the vibrant city of Las Vegas to compete
on the international stage, the film follows them on their bittersweet journey
of love, friendship, betrayal, honour and redemption.
ABCD 2 also stars
Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhu Deva, Lauren Gottlieb, Pravin Bhosale and
Sushant Pujari. The film is directed by Remo D'Souza and produced by Siddharth
Roy Kapur and Walt Disney Pictures.
