On June 30, Friends of Music will present a repeat performance of the exciting Baroque
2000 Recital, Earth’s Sounds, under
Concert Master – Ralitza Macheva.
The group comprises
violinists Ralitza Macheva; Joanna Maria Frankel; Lidia Sanacori and Roberto
Palma. Viola players are David Snaith and Marco Mazzi while there’s Boris
Kerimov and Ralitsa Pechoux on the cello and Simon Milliken on double bass.
In the woodwind
section, there’s Evelien Ballantine and Petra Conrads on flute; oboists Nuria
Cabezas Castaño and Maggie Deppe with Vessela Minkova on bassoon Other members
of the group are Stephane Pechoux (percussion); Michel Schneuwly on trumpet and
David Smith on harpsichord.
The programme will
include Johann Joseph Fux’s Overture in D Major No 4; Jean Phillippe
Rameau’s VI ème concert and Les Elemens
by Jean-Féry Rebel.
In the Prelude Performer, initiated by the National Lottery
Distribution Trust Fund, is singer Ané Dippenaar (18) who has been singing
since 2011. Ané sang in the South Cape Children’s Choir and has been a member
of the KZN Youth Choir since 2012.Her programme includes Per la Gloria by Bonocini, Das
verlassene Mägdlein by Wolf, and In
His Eyes by Wildhorn.
The recital takes place on June 30 at 19h30 at the Durban
Jewish Centre, 44 K.E. Masinga Road (Old Fort) Road. There is safe parking.
