(Khaya Hayane)
Whether you call him Khaya or Hayane, this versatile saxophonist
has developed a style that fuses jazz, a little bit of funk and the Southern
African sounds.
Catch Khaya and his secret trio which he calls “my best
buddies” live at a series of concerts presented this weekend by Concerts SA, is
a joint South African/Norwegian project housed under the auspices of the
Stakeholder Hub within The SAMRO Foundation. By engaging with musicians,
promoters, venue owners and audiences, the project aims to stimulate livemusic
in South Africa by finding and implementing ways to create regular, sustainable
performance platforms.
Performances take place as follows:

June 28 at 15h00: Lacoste Lounge, E 1137 Ntombela Road,
