Stage 5 Films and Red Letter Day Pictures, in association
with Advantage Entertainment and kykNET launch the award winning film, Hollywood in my Huis, to audiences
nationwide on June 26.
The film boasts three kykNET Silwerskermfees awards for
Critics’ Choice award: Audience Choice award for best film, and Audience Choice
award for Leading Lady which was awarded to Christia Visser.

Gee, written and performed by Joshua na die Reën, was released to radio
stations nationwide in May and the music video for this song, which includes

Hollywood in my Huis
is 'n coming-of-age romantic comedy set against the backdrop of a 2004 matric
dance in South Africa. The cast features Jana van Tonder; Edwin van der Walt; Vilje
Maritz; Louw Venter; Nicola Hanekom; Estelle Terblanche and Elana Afrika.
The story focuses on
an ordinary teenage girl –who lives in an impoverished railway neighbourhood with
her dysfunctional parents. When she witnesses Charlize Theron’s iconic Oscar
win, Jana is inspired to transform her upcoming matric dance into her very own
Hollywood Red Carpet moment.
Written and directed by Corne van Rooyen, Hollywood in my Huis explores two
markedly different realities - that of the people eking out a living on the
wrong side of the tracks and their privileged counterparts – and the fantasy
world in which Jana lives.
