WHO’S YOUR DADDY? FOR SIBAYA

Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom has pinned down Chris Forrest – South Africa’s deadpan-face of comedy – to share the funny side of fatherhood at the iZulu Theatre on June 6.

Audiences can expect up to the minute laughs as Forrest shares his experiences with becoming a father, from pregnancy to the birth to looking after an infant. His show, Who’s Your Daddy, takes a hilarious look at what really happens when a baby arrives, and how to deal with it.

“This is a must-see for anyone hoping to become a parent, or who is a parent or who knows a parent. You will laugh until your stomach hurts,” says Belinda Jelf, Marketing Manager at Sibaya.

Often touted as South Africa’s answer to Steven Wright (the pokerfaced star of American stand-up), Forrest has been at the forefront of SA comedy for over a decade. A regular performer on South Africa’s premier comedy show The Heavyweight Comedy Jam, and the token white guy on the hugely successful Blacks Only Show, Forrest is known for his unique, dry sense of humour and super-quick thinking.

Forrest is also the regular host of the King Size Comedy Shows, which attract crowds in excess of 3,000. He has graced the stage of top venues across the country – and the world – including the famous Lyric Theatre in West End London to huge acclaim. That wasn’t his only international exposure. He was chosen to perform at the Edinburgh Festival in 2003 and 2005, to sell-out crowds, and was given the opportunity to work at various comedy clubs in and around London, including the esteemed Headliners in Chiswick, and the infamous Up the Creek in Greenwich.

Forrest has mass appeal and audiences just can’t help but like him – and laugh at him. His witty and cynical one-line humour is thought-provoking and to the point, grabbing audiences’ attention and keeping them on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Though he looks a little nerdy, he’s calm and unflustered, hopping from topic to topic with absolute ease. Working as both a comedian and an emcee Forrest has proved himself to be one of the most versatile and consistent performers in the country, enjoyed by audiences of all ages and races.

Who’s Your Daddy has one show on June 6 at the iZulu Theatre at Sibaya. Tickets R120 available at Computicket and from the Sibaya Box Office. The show carries an age restriction of 13.
