The name Dan Patlansky invariably conjures up images of the
genius guitarist, singer/songwriter and globally respected purveyor of the
Blues. He will perform a special show featuring three Blues legends at The
Barnyard Theatre at Gateway on Tuesday (July 28).
Back in South Africa after finishing the third leg of his
four leg 2015 European Tour to promote his latest album, Dear Silence Thieves - where he visited Europe in May, June and
July and performed shows in the UK, Poland, The Netherlands and Germany - Dan
Patlansky & Friends return to Durban.
Dan will be joined for guest appearances by three friends
and music legends in their own right – Albert Frost, ‘Lonesome’ Dave Ferguson,
and Brad Klynsmith - for a show unique to Durban audiences.
Dan is still enjoying the success of Dear Silence Thieves, his seventh album, which was voted #1 Blues
Rock Album in the World for 2014 by Blues Rock Review – USA. Last year also saw
Dan performing as opening act for Bruce Springsteen’s tour to South Africa.
Comfortably into his second generation of frayed, Fender electric-fuelled
storytelling, the Blues and Dan Patlansky are welded at the hip.
Performing with Patlansky will be guitarist Albert Frost; ‘Lonesome’
Dave Ferguson on harmonica, human beat-box and vocals, and Brad Klynsmith who is
the lead vocalist and guitarist for renowned South African band, Gangs of
Ballet.
Dan Patlansky & Friends can be seen at The Barnyard
Theatre at Gateway on July, 28. The show will start at 20h00. Tickets R150 booked
through The Barnyard Theatre on 031 566 3045.
