Following the KZN Youth Wind Band’s successful tour to China
at the end of 2013, the roles are now reversed as Durban hosts the fantastic
Tie-in Middle School Wind Band from Guangzhou China, conducted by Liang Yang.
This outstanding group of young musicians has been awarded
accolades in China and abroad and are partnered with the Durban Music School –
home of the KZNYWB – in a sister cities agreement between Guangzhou and Durban.
Tomorrow night (July 27), multicultural music will fill the
air as these two top notch ensembles not only play varied programmes of
classical, popular, African and Chinese music, but combine in a massed band
spectacular that promises to be a feast for the ears!
This free concert is surely not to be missed by all lovers
of music.
The concert takes place on July 27 at 19h00 in the Playhouse
