On July 31, Thina Sobabili will be journeying into cinemas across South Africa.

The story follows siblings Thulani and Zanele who are travelling through life knowing that they have no-one but each other to lean on. With Alexandra Township in South Africa serving as a vibrant backdrop, the siblings escape one tragedy and build a life together where big brother Thulas is over-protective of his younger sister. As we witness Zanele’s coming of age story in a neighbourhood where there seems to be no escape, she starts making decisions that put her in harm’s way.

As a result, the two share a very strained relationship and Zanele is driven into the arms of an older man, as her way to rebel and escape what she thinks is a bleak future. Determined to put an end to this relationship, Thulas is overcome by rage and events lead him to make a decision that can only end in tragedy.

Directed by or Ernest Nkosi, the cast includes Emmanuel Nkosinathi Gweva, Busisiwe Mtshali, Zikhona Sodlaka, Richard Lukunku, Thato T Dhladla, Mpho Popps Modikoane, Kope Makgae and Ntokozo Hazel Mhlaba.

Running time is 90 min and the production is in isiZulu with English subtitles. More information from Caron Rypstra of Times Media Films on 082 511 4059 or
