The Zomari Duo will perform at the next Friends of Music
recital on July 28.
The Zomari Duo is made up of South African musicians Bridget
Rennie Salonen (flute) and James Grace (guitar) who both lecture at the
University of Cape Town’s College of Music. The duo was formed in 2004 and has
performed to great acclaim at venues across South Africa.
Their programme will include Giuliani, Castelnuovo-Tedeco
and Piazzolla.
The Prelude Performers for the evening, supported by the
National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund, will be Brett Alborough and Wesley
Lewis accompanied by Ann Muir performing a double clarinet concerto by F Krommer.
The Friends of Music recital will take place on July 28 at
19h30 at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 K E Masinga (Old Fort) Road, Durban. Tickets
R70 (R60 FOM members, and R20 for orchestral members and students) at the door
or booked through Computicket. There is safe parking.
