RSPA (Rising Stars Performing Arts) Theatre School invites
dancers of all abilities, ages 18+ to register for a Contact Improvisation
workshop and jam session on September 6, 2015, at The Playhouse Mayville workshops.
The workshop will be facilitated by choreographer and teacher,
Nicole Theunissen. The three-hour session will introduce participants to the
basics of Contact Improvisation, including physical contact, shared weight and
momentum, followed by an open jam session. This unique workshop aims to expose
local dancers to an internationally practiced dance form.
RSPA Theatre School has been running performing arts classes
at various schools and theatres in and around Durban since 2007. Students have
performed in various professional productions, cast in national and
international movies, achieved international recognition via examination
programmes and have represented South Africa performing at the 2014 Commonwealth
Games in Scotland. RSPA Theatre School is an authorised training and
examination centre for the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, (LAMDA)
and Trinity College, London.
The workshop takes place on September 6 from 13h00 to 16h00
at the Playhouse Mayville Workshops. Fee R150. To register for the workshop,
