Go ”down the rabbit hole” with the RSPA Theatre School’s
Summer Camp which takes place next year in early January.
The Rising Stars Performing Arts have announced that registration
is now open for the 2016 Summer Theatre Camp titled “Down the Rabbit Hole”,
which is open to any student from any school, Grade 7 – 12, who love to act,
sing and dance.
Gill Brunings, Director of the RSPA Theatre School comments:
“Our last camp was a resounding success, each and every young performer forgot
the words “I can’t” and believed in themselves and their ability to try! The
face to face (not electronic) fellowship that developed over such a short space
of time was divine to see. In seven days, all 22 campers went from complete
strangers to a tightknit performance group with an incredibly strong bond – all
I can say is, that’s the magic of theatre!”
The Camp objectives are to make sure every camper is made to
feel special, that they extend their performance skills and leaves feeling
accomplished. The aim is to ensure that each camper has fun in a safe, nurturing
and supportive environment and develops new friendships in the process.
“From January 4 to 10 we will explore the world of devising
drama and stage an original performance for parents and friends to enjoy on the
final day, with the beautiful Drakensberg as our backdrop,” explains Brunings. “Vocal
training and harmonies will be led by Sanele Sibiya, choreography and dance
training is led by Nicole Theunissen and our acting coach is Mikhaila Wilson.”
The summer camp will take place at the Hella Hella Outdoor
Centre from January 4 to 10.
The closing date for registration is November 30, 2015. Contact
