Move over disco, rock ‘’n roll is here to stay! In 1978 Grease, a breathless romp from the
opening scene until the credits roll, outstripped the previous year’s Saturday Night Fever, another smash hit
featuring John Travolta, at the box office.
Danny is a tough guy, but a beach encounter with Sandy, a
gorgeous visiting girl, turns his knees into jelly. Much to his surprise, she
pitches up at his high school at the start of the new term. He must choose
between his image and his strong attraction to the shy and reserved new girl on
the block.
The 1978 musical was directed by Randal Kleiser and starred John
Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing and Jeff Conaway
