VIDI is the first South African VOD streaming service to
offer both a monthly subscription option and/or an instant rental option across
one platform. There is no programme scheduling but rather instant access to
thousands of hours of entertainment.
VIDI has concluded an agreement that enables viewers to pay
for the premier Video-on-Demand (VOD) service at a national network of retail
outlets using their EasyPay accounts.
EasyPay focuses on the provision of high-volume, secure and
convenient payment, prepayment and value-added services. The company's bill
payment facility offers consumers a point-of-sale bill payment service which is
integrated into a large number of national retailers, the Internet,
self-service kiosks and mobile handsets.
"VIDI is expanding rapidly as we approach our one-year
anniversary next month. With continual increases in our available content came
a natural commitment to make it easier for South Africans to pay for their
subscription-based VIDI content," says VIDI’s Janene
Matsukis.
Once VIDI viewers' accounts have been credited they will
receive an SMS notification with payments taking up to 24 hours to reflect.
The EasyPay agreement follows the recent announcement of a
payment agreement with cellular network operator Vodacom. That deal saw VIDI
users being able to pay for their viewing via their Vodacom contract bills.
Available across multiple devices, viewers have two options:
Unlimited Subscription to a library of movies and award-winning TV series for
only R149 per month. Sign up is easy with the seven days on subscription
offered as a trial period. Viewers don’t require a dish or a decoder and they
can cancel their subscription anytime as there are no contracts. It is this
option that can be paid for using the EasyPay facility. Viewers also have the
option to Instantly Rent the latest releases just off the circuit for R27and a
selection of premier library titles from as little as R15.
