Deadline: September 18,
2015
Bursary applications for arts funding for 2016 from the
National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) are now open for post graduate
students who are involved in arts studies, together with registered education
and training institutions that provide tuition in the fields of theatre, dance,
crafts, literature, music and visual arts.
Applications are invited for both individual post graduate
studies and block institution bursaries for undergraduate students who will be
studying in South Africa during 2016. This invitation also extends to students
applying for a Bachelor of Technology degree in the arts.
Says NAC Arts Development Manager Julie Diphofa: “We look
forward to identifying emerging talent whom we can support financially, in
order to help them achieve their goals within the creative industries. The NAC
is determined to ensure equity in the arts by identifying students from
marginalised and vulnerable groups, and we would particularly welcome
applicants from provinces that in the past have been under-represented.”
Earlier this year the NAC awarded 88 bursaries to students
to further their studies in South Africa.
The NAC will judge submissions in line with its guidelines
and annual performance plans. Late and incomplete applications will not be
considered.
The closing date for entries is September 18 at 16h00 and
successful candidates will be announced on December 13, 2015. Application forms
are available from the NAC office or can be downloaded at www.nac.org.za
