(Roy Peretz)
The producers of the recently re-commissioned hit TV show Pawn Stars South Africa (HISTORY®, DStv
channel 186) are inviting all South Africans to get in touch with them if they
have a treasured artefact that could be featured on the new series.
Says series producer Ed Worster: "We want to showcase
unusual local collectables with interesting back stories. Our Pawn Stars experts may be able to shed
light on the value and uncover the detail - and Roy (Peretz) may make you an
offer you can’t refuse!"
So, if you think you own something of historical interest,
and which is collecting dust and taking up space, and you want to be part of Pawn Stars SA season 2, get in touch with the Pawn Stars SA research team at pawnstarssa@rapidblue.com, with
details of your unusual, and potentially valuable, local artefact!
Pawn Stars South
Africa is the local version of the global hit factual entertainment series Pawn Stars, which launched on HISTORY®
(DStv channel 186) in October last year. It has been re-commissioned for a
second series due to its popularity and is set for release in 2016.
Based in Johannesburg, the series opens the door to the Cash
Inn pawn shop, where owner Roy Peretz and his partners Eytan and Liel and
assistants meet customers from all walks of life who flock to pawn or sell
anything from the quirky, the unexpected and the downright hilarious. South
Africa’s rich and diverse culture provides a treasure-trove of fascinating
artefacts from past to present, from muscle cars to military memorabilia, which
flood through the pawn shop doors daily.
Peretz and his team haggle with customers for the best
price, aided along the way by experts in antiquities and pop culture. The
back-room shenanigans of the pawn shop team, combined with the historical back
story behind the array of artefacts, create a gripping and highly entertaining
journey through a nation’s hidden gems.
Pawn Stars South
Africa series 2 is due to broadcast on HISTORY on DStv in 2016.
