CREATIVE FEEL

This October, Creative Feel explores the evolution of Simphiwe Dana.

The outspoken songstress, who is celebrating ten years in the music industry, took to the Joy of Jazz with a new fire and energy at the end of September.

As the performing arts enters the season of awards, Creative Feel announces the victors of the SAMRO Scholarships for Singers and the inspired art awarded at the Sasol New Signatures. Prepare for more winners of some of the country’s most prestigious arts and culture awards in the November and December/January issues.

The compelling October issue also features the best upcoming events on the arts calendar: David Goldblatt’s latest retrospective-but-not exhibition – a look at a selection of works from his 64-year long career; the upcoming Strauss & Co auction of extraordinary works by Erik Laubscher; Nigerian artist Adejoke Tugbiyele’s solo exhibition at Goodman Gallery; Sulger-Buel-Lovell will be exhibiting Victor Ekpuk’s work in London; there’s an insight into Ubuntu – The Opera; find out what South African artists are doing on international stages as part of the SA-UK Season; and get excited about the October Slam For Your Life slam poetry finals.

Not sure how EcoMobility is going to affect your daily (or occasional) travels into Sandton this October? Creative Feel has researched routes, public transport plans and general festival info to take some of the stress out of your commute.

Creative Feel offers top-class news, reviews, interviews and a general look at the local arts and culture scene. To stay connected and informed, purchase Creative Feel at local Exclusive Books or CNA or download the free Creative Feel app on your Android tablet or iPad.
