(Masood Boomgaard, who will host the show)

Some of Durban’s very best homegrown stand-up comedy talent collaborates for Durbz Comedy Jam and what they promise to be an unforgettable weekend of belly-aching laughter this weekend in the iZulu Theatre at Sibaya.

The show is a showcase of established and emerging comedians and features, amongst others, Neville Pillay, Masood Boomgaard, Neil Green and Jem Atkins in a rip-roaring, jam-packed lineup.

Neville Pillay is a veteran on the scene, famous for Lotus Fm skits, while Masood Boomgaard has performed with the country’s top acts and performed several solo shows. Jem Atkins and Neil Green are both seasoned performers to have made names for themselves on the local club scene.

The show also features East Coast Radio’s Rory Petzer, the Baron S and Mohammad Vawda as well as a host of other talented newcomers who will be given an opportunity to announce themselves to the local comedy scene.

"Durban has its own unique style and flavour of comedy,” says show host Masood Boomgaard. “To know Durban, you have to have walked it, lived it, breathed it and indeed tasted it. It's a city with so much diversity and cultural magic that's it hard not be find yourself immersed in it. As for the people, you can’t help but fall in love with the people of Durban. This show is about Durbanites telling their stories.”

Durbz Comedy Jam takes place at Sibaya’s iZulu Theatre on October 30 and 31 at 20h00 and on November 1 at 15h00. Tickets R120 or R140 pp booked through Computicket and the Sibaya Box Office.
