(George Mari)
Alliance Française de Durban in partnership with Café Saint
Germain present an Open Day & Jazz Lunch with George Mari Band today (October
3) in its charming garden setting surrounded by shady trees.
The Open Day provides a great opportunity for students,
friends and their families to come to Alliance Française de Durban to see the
courses and activities that the organisation offers. They will be able to join
in activities, attend lectures, learn about courses and events, and view the
Alliance Française facilities.
The multi-talented, band leader and trumpeter, George Mari,
is a regular to the stage of Alliance Française de Durban. He will lead the
band through a selection of favourites from the American jazz songbook, some
original compositions and a handful of South African jazz standards. On this
occasion, he is accompanied by Gerald Sloan on guitar. The duo offers a wide
repertoire of sounds, where jazz sonorities are balanced with world music
rhythms!
The Open Day runs from 09h00 to 12h00 with the jazz lunch
taking place from 12h00 to 14h00.
