(Frank Graham)
The Knysna Arts Festival, a national event 15 years ago,
returns to the national arts calendar after 15-year break and will be presented
by Sotheby’s International Realty.
The driving force behind the event is Festival Organiser and
Knysna resident, Owen Roberts, who is a former headmaster of Kearsney College in
KZN.
Appearing on the programme will be Durban’s popular
raconteur and former Springbok radio personality, Frank Graham, who will
present his show titled There Was a Time
which offers an evening of nostalgia reflecting on the days when the precious
radio was the only source of home entertainment. He is also among the hosts of Knysna
Natter which comprises talks, debates and demonstrations.
Also from Durban will be the multi-award winning quirky
musical comedy about parenthood, Dear
Breeder, directed by Iain EWOK Robinson and featuring Karen Logan and Kasia
Vosloo.
Cat Simoni and Paul Spence from the KZN Midlands will
perform their show From Cat with Love.
Another KZN link is former Kearsney old boy Baden Hall, who is one of the festival
committee members. He will appear with his group, Unfiltered, on the Featherbed
paddle cruiser during the festival.
The extensive programme features theatre, music and dance as
well as an wide range of visual art mediums.
