(Greg Baptie, Roland
Stansell, Derek Pearce & Allan Quihampton)
The Family Players brings Queens of The Opera back to Rhumbelow Theatre.
After a successful run over Valentine this year, the Family
Players - Allan Quihampton, Derek Pearce, Greg Baptie and Roland Stansell –
will be joined by Friends - Krystle Temmerman, Alaska Hilton and Graham Goodwin
in a show that pays tribute to some of the greatest divas over the last 100
years in opera.
First timer Graham Goodwin will be strutting his stuff in
heels, and the voices of the hugely talented Krystle and 12 year-old Alaska
will perform music from top West End classic operas to modern musicals on
Broadway. The drag Queens have opened those closet doors to bring you some
classic old drag numbers from the night clubs of yesteryear.
The show includes numbers like Miss Subway of 1952, All I ask of You, Any Dream Will do, Cats, and
a classic comedy number from Cinderella.
Performances will take place on October 23 and 24 at 20h00
and then on October 25 at 14h00 and 18h30. The venue opens 90 minutes before
show for picnic dinner. Tickets R120 (R100 pensioners). Bring food picnic
baskets - braais will be available for those who wish to cook some meat. There
will be a bar available (no alcohol may be brought on to the premises) and
there is limited secure parking.
