VIVA LAS VEGAS

Las Vegas has an undeniable magnetic attraction and nobody is exempt. Even the world’s most iconic and influential performers go there to play, party and perform … and The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway celebrates these music legends in one action-packed show, Viva Las Vegas!

Opening on October 13, this glittering new production is set to run through the festive season.

A spectacular metropolis in the Nevada desert, Las Vegas is the unlikely entertainment capital of the world. It has evolved to become an unspoken rite of passage for the world’s most acclaimed performers to make the pilgrim there, like Elvis who had 837 consecutive sellout from 1969 four years after starring in the iconic film Viva Las Vegas.

The show represents divas such as Celine Dion, Cher, Britney Spears, Dianna Ross and Jennifer Lopez; sex symbols such as Tom Jones and Rod Stewart; rockers such as ZZ Top and Santana; icons such as Elvis Presley, Elton John and Michael Jackson; and crooners such as Dean Martin and Michael Bublé. There are also some surprise tributes to Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Boys II Men, and ol’ blue eyes himself, Frank Sinatra.

Songs included in this party production include Get The Party Started, I’m Coming Out, Sex Bomb, Let’s Get Loud, The Lady Is A Tramp, Power Of Love, Beat It, Burning Love and Uptown Funk.

Whether it be a staff function, family outing or festive season celebration, the glitz and glamour of Vegas provides the perfect backdrop to dress up and let your hair down! To accommodate festive season revelry, additional lunch time shows (starting at 13h30) have been added on the following dates - November, 27 and December 3 4, 10 and 11.

The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway will again be staging their very popular Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve shows. The Christmas Eve show will take place on December 24, so will be at the normal ticket price of R155 per person. The New Year’s Eve show will start at 21h00, will feature an extra set and countdown into 2016 before a DJ takes over the dance floor. Tickets for the show on Thursday, December 31 will cost R340 per person.

Viva Las Vegas runs until January 10, 2016. Tickets R155 pp from Wednesday to Saturday (R120 pp every Tuesday night and R110 pp for the Sunday matinees). For bookings and enquiries, phone The Barnyard Theatre on 031 566 3045 or visit www.barnyard.durban
