(Ralitza Matcheva,
Baroque 2000 concertmaster, and another familiar figure!)
Baroque 2000's last concert of this year this weekend
(December 20) is an event with Christmas connections and features exciting
London-based violinist Darragh Morgan, former musical director of Baroque 2000,
now continuing his international career as soloist and chamber musician.
Darragh Morgan is the soloist in two concertos by Vivaldi:
the D minor RV 242, and the A minor op 4 no 4, La Stravaganza. The other works are Manfredini's Christmas
Symphony, Charpentier's Overture to his Te
Deum, and Locatelli's Introduzione
IV.
This concert will also celebrate the life of Vessela Minkova,
former Principal Bassoon of Baroque 2000 and the KZNPO, who died on November
26.
The concert takes place at 11h00 on December 20 at the
Church of the Monastery Mariannhill. Tickets R120 at the door; parking is free
and secure. For more information contact Michel on 082 303 5241 or email: sursouth@iafrica.com
