Spotlight Productions will present Carry On ...!, a show directed by Gareth Davis that presents “fabulous follies and sing-a-longs”.
The storyline goes as follows: “This December Ms Hilda
Swanepoel, Lola Divine, Dee Dee de Boer, Shelly Seamore, Tinker Teddy, Louise
Van Tonder and Brumilda invite you to their Cabaret Club, in an old Victorian
red brick building at the bottom of Point Road.
These delightful ladies reside together and have a love-hate
relationship with one another. Scheming and back-stabbing is a daily
recurrence, but if any member of the posse run into hard times, they will
huddle together to protect one another.
The cabaret club is running into hard times and they feel,
as performers, their days are numbered. Sadly, with nowhere to go, they deal
with life’s daily challenges whilst putting on their amazing performances.”
The cast includes Vincent De Speville; Tyron Cathey; John
Bell; Sharon Watters; Sharon Ditchburn; Caeley van Doorn, and Ali Dawson with Ross
Lottering as their ever-dependable “House Boy”.
Carry On ...! runs
over two weekends - December 3 to 5 and December 10 to 12 - at 136 Joshua
Gumede Road, Pinetown (inside Pinetown Girls High School). The doors open at 19h00
and the show starts at 20h00. Snacks and beverages will be on sale and platters
are available for pre-order, or patrons can bring their own snacks. The show contains
an age restriction of PG16 due to language.
