(Sandile Mkhize)
Young Pietermaritzburg actor Sandile Mkhize is quickly
finding his mark in Johannesburg in television and theatre with cameo roles in
SABC3 and Mzansi Magic productions.
Like many other success stories, Mkhize’s passion for the
arts landed him in Johannesburg, where he came to study performance at one of
South Africa’s leading arts schools, AFDA. During his time at AFDA he was able
to hone his talent, playing various lead roles in in-house productions, which
later saw him receiving the overall Best Male Actor award in his graduation
year.
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Live
Performance, he has been able to pave his way in the entertainment industry and
is set to become a national attraction. Television roles he already has under
his belt include Samkelo in Mzansi Magic’s Ancient
Grounds as well SABC 3’s Roe JouVoete,
as ATA and the soon–to-be-released, A Covert
Affair.
Mkhize is committed to using his talent to shape young
minds. His current applied theatre production, Direction, which he co-directs and acts in with Khaya Mthembu (Scroof no Sexy) is aimed at assisting
high school learners with career choices and providing knowledge about life in
tertiary education. Direction has
already performed at career expos, including the Young Endless Possibilities
programme held in Pretoria this year and had motivational speakers such as 2009
Idols runner up, Graeme Watkins.
2016 already has exciting projects in the pipeline for him,
with a theatrical production directed by theatre heavyweight Prince Lamla being
one of the things to look forward to.
Keep your eye on Sandile Mkhize – his future in the arts
industry promises to be a bright one.
