The fun-loving people of Greater Durban have a brand new
concept to enjoy this festive season with an event which fuses great food, Old
Skool Kwaito and Stand-up Comedy– all against the breathtaking, beautiful
backdrop of the Inanda Dam (Green Corridor, Eskebheni side).
Known as Music,
Food & Fun By The Dam, this fun extravaganza takes place on December 18
and features top DJs Smira and Dj Mangoh on the decks, and stand-up comedy by
exciting Durban acts such as Siyanda Maphumulo (wooden mic idol contestant),
Ndlebe, Tsoro and Amawele ase-Chesterville.
The programme director will be the popular Gagasi FM
prankster Qatha “Masheleni” Khuzwayo, and the guest artist will be
award-winning mega hip-hop star, Zakwe.
Event spokesperson, Sanele Mkhabela, promises all
attendees an experience to remember. “For far too long, the people of Durban
have been starved of a platform where they can just be themselves and have a
great time to celebrate another long year. We are here to change that. The
concept of Music, Food & Fun By The
Dam offers them a unique opportunity to do just that, in a breathtakingly
beautiful and safe setting. All the ingredients for a truly memorable time are
there. With great food, top DJs, stand-up comedians and beautiful surroundings,
what more can you really ask for?”
The event organizers, who are proud residents of
Inanda, want to grow the event into an annual affair which will cement its
place in the local entertainment calendar and boost local tourism, in line with
the vision of local tourism movement, Woz’eNanda (Come to Inanda). As they comment:
“We are saying, Woz’eNanda. There’s so much to see and experience.”
Tickets cost R300 (R450 for VIP) available at
Computicket. The dress code is strictly blue denim and white. The buffet and
drinks are included in the ticket price.
Music, Food &
Fun By The Dam takes place on December 18 from 12 noon to 22h00 at Inanda
Dam (Green Corridor/Eskebheni side). Transport is available from Wushwini Arts
