(Dave Tomlinson)
The Elizabeth Gordon Gallery gets 2016 off to a good start with
three new sculpture pieces by well-known sculpture Dave Tomlinson.
Tomlinson’s interest in sculpture started as a diversion
from the pressures of life in the advertising world. Encouraged by his mentor,
the late Everard Read, he became a full-time sculptor. He chose this medium as
his love for the third dimensional form could embrace nature, with wildlife
being the focus.
As a South African he has a passion for wide, open spaces
and a love for the bush. Working in bronze allows for a greater feeling of
freedom, and he is fascinated by the thought that he can give his clients
feelings of peace and happiness when remembering the cameos of their own
experiences in the bush.
