KickstArt presents Winnie the Pooh over the July school holidays - a colourful and faithful adaptation of AA Milne’s classic children’s story.

KickstArt invites children to audition to perform in the production. Auditions will take place on February 27 at the Playhouse Mayville workshops / studios in Ramsay Road Mayville from 10h00 sharp.

Children must be between the ages of 9 and 13. They should present a short acting monologue or poem and a song with backing tracks on a CD. They should wear comfortable clothes, and bring refreshments.

The producers are looking for a Christopher Robin and several of Rabbit’s friends and relations. No need to make an appointment – just arrive and put your names on a list.

Winnie the Pooh stars Nhlakanipho Manqele as the much-beloved bear, and Belinda Henwood as his nervous side-kick, Piglet. Others in the cast include Liesl Coppin as bossy but motherly Kanga, and Luca Tarboton (Annie in KickstArt’s 2014 production of Annie) as her mischievous offspring, Roo. Bryan Hiles plays Tigger, Roo’s bouncy partner in crime, and Rowan Bartlett plays all-knowing Owl, with Anthony Stonier as ever-efficient Rabbit. Peter Court plays doleful donkey Eeyore, and also directs this production. Set and costume design is by Greg King.

Winnie the Pooh rehearses from June 7 and will run at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre on UKZN campus from 30 June to 17 July, with performances at 14h30 Tuesdays to Sundays and 19h00 on Fridays. No babes in arms, or children under three. Tickets R180/R150/R120 (R150/R120/R100 children/pensioners) Booking is at Computicket
