The Subway Run is a three-piece band from the North of Durban with Freddy Lalendle on lead vocals, Bradley Downs on guitar and slides and Celene Adams on vocals and percussion. The trio met at an open mic evening, started jamming together and had an instant click and this is when The Subway Run was born.

Their sound is a combination of soul, blues, indie rock and a touch of folk. The focus of the band is on creating heartfelt compositions. The hurt and pain, but also the happy times that they went through individually have made their passion for music very strong. This approach ensures they relate to their own music and audiences throughout the world will relate as well.

The band draws their inspiration from artists such as Ben Howard, Matt Corby, Louis Armstrong, Sons of the East and Mumford and Sons. They are currently in the process of releasing their first EP. Nevertheless, they already have some prestigious performances under their belt such as at the Durban Street Food Festival and at Botanical Gardens.

The Still Sessions is a monthly music and dining experience presented by Distillery031 and iSupport Music Business.

The Subway Run will appear for The Still Sessions on March 3 at 18h30. Entrance R70. Tickets available at www.webtickets.co.za and at Pick ‘n Pay.

Distillery031 is Durban’s first craft distillery and home to an intimate cocktail bar and dining area. It is situated on the first floor of The Foundry, 43 Station Drive, Durban.
