(Dave Monks)
Celebrate an Early
St Patrick’s Day presented by The Rhumbelow Theatre taking place at the Allan
Wilson Shellhole, 5 Durban Rd Pietermaritzburg
Presents
South Africa’s own
Irish multi-instrumentalist Dave Monks presents an enjoyable time-warp,
transporting you to the towns, rivers and valleys of Ireland. His proven
repertoire of esteemed Irish classics mixed with a touch of Blarney in his
treasury of tales and humour, are always sure to get hands clapping.
Born and raised in
Dublin, Ireland gives Monks more than a stamp of originality and authenticity
to his Irish melodies and skillful instrumentals. An Irish show wouldn’t be
complete without the good ‘ol faithfuls like Danny Boy, Galway Bay, Whiskey in the Jar, Paddy Mc Ginty’s Goat to
name a few.
However, A Feast of Irish will also introduce a
whole new generation of Irish favourites. The folkish feel of this music is
enhanced by Monks’ mastery of the banjo, guitar, harmonica, tin whistles and
vocals.
