The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will present popular
Durban vocalist Lu Dlamini on March 16
This gig is a prelude to Lu Dlamini’s 11 Track debut album Ulimi lami that is due for release in
2016. She will perform songs from the album which she describes “world music”.
The album Ulimi lamiconsists of compositions in Isinguni, Portuguese and English by the songbird. The solo album was recorded at The Headroom Studios in
Seaview Durban. A “special edition”, 4-track pre-album release CD will be
available on the night of the gig.
Lu Dlamini (vocals), will be joined by Barney Bophela (piano),
Mazwakhe Gumede (bass) and Mzamo Zungu (drums) on March 16 at 18h00 (doors open
at 17h30). General admission R60 (R40 pensioners and R20 students). The Centre
for Jazz and Popular Music (CJPM) is situated at Level 2, Shepstone Building at
UKZN Howard College Campus.
