Friends of Music’s next
recital on April 19 will feature Siberian Trio which is made up of Boris
Kerimov (cello), Elena Kerimova (violin) and Liezl-Maret Jacobs (piano).
Now living in South
Africa are long-term members of the KZN Philharmonic, the Kerimovs are both from
Russia and are passionate about chamber music. For this performance they
collaborate with Liezl Maret Jacobs, one of South Africa’s leading pianists.
The programme will
include three fantasy pieces –for cello and piano by Schumann; Brahms Sonata
for cello and piano No 2 – F Major Op 99, and
Beethoven Trio in B Flat Major, Op – 97 (Archduke)
The Prelude Performer
for the evening will be 14 year-old singer Sornia Kanfer who will perform Pie Jesu; The Holy City; Colours of the Wind and Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again. She will be accompanied by Ziggy
van Rooyen.
The recital takes
place on April 19 at 19h30 at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 K E Masinga (Old
Fort) Road in Durban. There is safe parking. Tickets R100 (R80 FOM members and
