Tomorrow night (May 16) the Mondays @ Six at St Clements
programme will host Poems From Samarang
when Donald Clark and Pieter Scholtz will read a selection of poems from Clark’s
book.
Donald Clark was born in Johannesburg and educated at
Pridwin Preparatory School and Michaelhouse. He qualified in medicine in 1953
and furthered his medical studies in England and Boston in the United States, obtaining
a diploma in Child Health. He worked as a general medical practitioner in
Bryanston, Johannesburg, and then in Durban.
He settled in Eshowe in Zululand in 1965, where he continues
to live and work today. He has been a keen ornithologist since his youth and is
an enthusiastic gardener. In 1950 he ran the 440 yards in Springbok Colours
against a visiting American athletic team.
St Clements is
situated at 191 Musgrave Road. Mondays @ Six run between 18h00 and 19h00. Table

donations box to support presenters.
