PROF GOPAL'S STAND UP COMEDY SHOW

Living Legend Hamish Kyd aka Professor Gopal has put together a line-up that will tickle the funny bone and keep audiences laughing in Prof Gopal's Stand Up Comedy Show coming to Sibaya this July!

Host and MC'ing the show, Prof Gopal will perform his much loved comedy alongside Durban comedians Shika Budhoo, Warrick Frank, Neil Govender and Charles Ash.

Hamish Kyd is a well-known actor director writer and producer of many comedy and musical productions. Known for his radio dramas on Lotus Fm including Muti, Charlie, The Palace, Granny'sHome, Knowing youknowing me and most recently The Manjaroes. He has published three well-received novels Charlie, Muti! and KNOWING YOU; and has many other appeared in theatre productions such as Jimbo, The Motown Story and Taxi Jam. He was also seen as Uncle in the South African Feature 31 Million Reasons and has successfully established his stand-up comedy character called Prof Gopal.

Charles Ash was born and raised in Durban and now lives in Gauteng. Drawing on his unique experiences and wayward trajectory through life in South Africa, Charles brings a fresh new dimension to the South African comedy circuit. Ash has performed at The Box; Cool Runnings in Melville; on the “ProudlyColouredComedy” DVD and in various venues across Gauteng and KZN. He is back on the comedy circuit, bigger, better and louder than ever before.

Shika Budhoo is an actress, voice artist and comedienne from Durban currently living in Johannesburg. Well known for theatre productions Shika-Land!, Oh Golly It's Bolly and Aya's Boy, Shika was also the popular voice of Mrs Singh Song on Lotus Fm’s Lollipop Lane. She also appeared in her adult comedy at the KWV Indian Comedy Tour; and Stekkies Comedy Jam and most recently performing in family comedy in Mervyn Pillay's All Girl Comedy Jam. She can also be seen in Leon Schuster’s latest movie Pay Back The Money.

Warrick Frank is an all-round entertainer having appeared in radio, television and theatre. He has performed nationally to thousands while on Fringe theatre tours. He appeared in one of the featured roles on SABC 2 & 3’s Youth Drama series Snake Park , as well as on various radio dramas at Lotus Fm. He is one of the very few actors of this generation to be a part of the revival of hit 80’s plays from Essop Khan & Mohamed Ali, Ronnie Govender and Kessie Govender.

Neil Govender is a former KZN top model. He is an actor, MC, Radio and voice-over artist and has appeared in television and theatre productions. Known for his performances on stage in Bombay Dreams 2 and 3, So You Think Einstein was a Genius, its sequel and Awesome Kicks. He took the lead role in an Ekasi Stories episode on etv titled Curry Muncher and can be heard in various radio drama's on Lotus Fm including Sunshine Mall and The Moghuls.

Prof Gopal's Stand Up Comedy Show runs from July 7 to 10 in the iZulu Theatre at Sibaya Casino. Booking is through Computicket.
