ALL OF ME

(Melanie Roberts)

Coming to Rhumbelow Theatre is All of Me, a show with Melanie Roberts in her inimitable diva style with Shemual Mahabeer on piano.

At last! Melanie performs her first ever solo show in 33 years of being in showbiz. Four countries, 200 shows - some devised and written by herself - and over 400 corporates has brought her to now ... go solo.

A kaleidoscope of songs from the 40's to today, combined with her cabaret and musical theatre songs and into the pot an array of styles from pop to swing, jazz to ballads, all woven together with her irreverent wit, conversations with the audience and anecdotes from 33 years of performing.

Expect to hear hits by Elton John, Billy Joel, Elvis, Ed Sheeran, Gloria Gaynor, Turner, Bruno Mars, George Gershwin, Sting, The Carpenters, Ella Fitzgerald, Carole King, James Brown, Cole Porter, Beatles ... and much more.

Encouraged by friends and audience members, Roberts decided she might have enough to give a show worth hearing. "it's only taken 33 years but with the superb accompaniment of a versatile and brilliant pianist such as Shemual and his ability to embrace so many different styles of music as well as recognising and working with my somewhat unusual voice range I am hoping it will be a cracker of a show. Simply put it's "All of me" out there on stage giving all to you with dollops of passion and laughs,” she says.

Roberts’ gowns are by Karen Monk Klijnstra and hair by Faye @ Hoi Polloi .
