(Carvin Goldstone)
To celebrate 10 years of comedy, Durban based comedian
Carvin H Goldstone will be staging the Best
of Carvin H Goldstone national tour.
The tour is the culmination of 10 years of dedication to his
unique craft. 10 years without swearing on stage or talking dirty, but still
managing to be one of the funniest people in South Africa.
The Best of Carvin H
Goldstone Tour kicks off at the Durban Jewish Club on July 14, then he
heads down to the Wild Coast Sun on July 15. Further performances take place in
Pretoria and Johannesburg before he returns to KZN with one night in
Pietermaritzburg Golden Horse on July 30.
Sibaya iZulu Theatre will host Goldstone from August 19 to 21
and he will appear at Chatsworth's Hotel Savera on August 28.
In July 2006, an unknown Carvin H Goldstone walked onto the
stage of Sibiya's iZulu Theatre and delivered his first ever comedy set as a
contestant in the Madras Masala comedy competition. After three intense days of
competition, he was announced as the winner with landslide votes from the
audience.
A decade later, this larger than life, much-loved comedy
genius is now a household name and arguably the most successful Durban based
stand up comedian. Three sold-out one man shows, since 2011, international
tours and multiple awards have earned him respect across South Africa's comedy
community.
His rise to the top was rubber stamped this year by being
selected as the headline act at the recent Kings
and Queens of Comedy in Port Elizabeth despite the line up including comedy
veterans like Loyiso Gola, Stuart Taylor, Chester Missing and Jason Goliath. He
has delivered a brand new, highly acclaimed one-man show every year since 2011.
Goldstone's growth has been largely down to his youtube and
online presence, with several of his comedy clips going viral - and he’s just
returned from his second Australian Comedy Club Tour. So it’s no wonder that
the man is widely considered to be one of SA’s most successful stand-up
comedians! His hilarious, family-friendly comedy style and instantly likeable
on-stage persona leave people in stitches wherever he goes. With no swearing or
sexual references the show is designed for the whole family but parental
guidance is advised.
