Maritzburg's Music Club at La Casa will present Larry Amos on August 9.

“A fantastic way for all genders to end off a great Woman's Day - brilliant blues-rocker Amos is back in his favourite 'home-town' to grace our stage once more with his irresistible, tantalising sounds; accompanied by some of Maritzburg's own local legends,” says the MMC organisers.

Amos is widely regarded by his peers as the 'best blues guitarist in the country'. Born in Gauteng he started playing guitar at the age of 9. Six years later he formed a band that went on to win third prize at a Battle of the Bands held at the City Hall in Pietermaritzburg. He began his professional career after signing with an agency as a solo-artist with his first gig in the Persian Room at the Four Seasons Hotel in Durban.

“Additionally, MMC are delighted to announce a new development as we will now be offering delicious food brought to you by professional Cape Town chef Amy and Midlands own artisan, wood-fired, GMO-free 'Love Bread' - a tasty beef or vegetarian soup will be on offer.”

Amos will perform at La Casa on August 9 at 19h00. Entrance R40. The stage will be open for the first hour for any keen muso to show their skills.

The home of the Maritzburg Musicians Club, La Casa (formerly The Red Door) is situated in Quarry Road, off Victoria Road, in Pietermaritzburg. Car guards on duty. More information from Roger O’Neill on 083 230 6562
