HUMAN BEHAVIOUR AT SIBAYA

(Pravesh Mungaldave)

Stand-up comedy fans in KZN are in for a feast when Pravesh Mungaldave, one of SA’s leading young stand-up stars from Gauteng, appears in his brand new show, Human Behaviour at Sibaya Casino’s iZulu Theatre on September 23 and 24, when he delves into the minds of humans and their interactions with each other.

Human Behaviour looks at our daily lives and things we do - or rather have to put up with,” says Mungaldave. “No man is an island, right? Unless you get caught digging your nose. Then no-one wants to be around you. So In order to live, we need to interact with each other.”

And this is where the comedy starts. You are going to be sitting in the audience, thinking to yourself, he is so right, I do that exact same thing. As any self-respecting comic does, Pravesh puts his money where his mouth is, so best you follow his advice: “Laughter is the best medicine – unless you have haemorrhoids, and then I guess bum cream will have to suffice. So don’t be like that guy next door, watch this show for your medicinal cure.” Human Behaviour………. Remember, he is watching!!

Pravesh Mungaldave’s trajectory on SA’s mainstream comedy circuit has been swift and steady since he won the Gauteng Humorous Speech Contest in 2008 as the only novice entrant. The KZN-born comedian, who grew up in Pietermaritzburg, has been seen sharing the stage with some of South Africa’s legendary comics at leading venues such as at The Playhouse in Durban, Johannesburg Civic Theatre and Pretoria State Theatre.

Frequent performances have included gigs at comedy clubs throughout Johannesburg, from Ozone in Soweto to Parkers Comedy at Monte Casino to The Comedy Underground, SA’s longest running comedy event. He was nominated for a comedy award at the 2013 SATMA awards.

Human Behaviour has performances on September 23 and 24 at 20h00 at Sibaya’s iZulu Theatre. Tickets R100 booked through Computicket outlets at Shoprite Checkers, telephonically on 0861 915 8000 or online at www.computicket.com
