The most talked about movie to TV adaptation, Lethal Weapon, is coming to M-Net
channel 101 on DStv “Express from the US” from September 22 at 19h30. Based on
the hit movie franchise of the same name, Lethal
Weapon tells the story of classic cop duo Martin Riggs (played by Clayne
Crawford, Rectify) and Roger Murtaugh
(played by Damon Wayans, My Wife and Kids)
as they work the beat on the streets of a crime-ridden Los Angeles.
Grief-stricken after the loss of his young wife and unborn
child, ex-Navy SEAL-turned-detective Riggs moves to California to "start
over" at the LAPD. He's paired up with Murtaugh, a cop who’s only just
recovered from a near-fatal heart attack. Riggs' penchant for diving headfirst
into the line of fire immediately clashes with Murtaugh's by-the-book
technique, so one thing is clear from the moment they meet - this partnership
is doomed. But during their first case together, Riggs drags Murtaugh on a
chaotic car chase and into a shootout with drug dealers, which, despite his protests,
leaves the older cop feeling more alive than he has in years.
It's not long before Riggs himself finds something worth
living for: a partner- and a friend - in Murtaugh. They’re about to become the
LAPD’s best law enforcers - if Riggs doesn’t get them killed first. There’s
also plenty of high-octane action, close-shave accidents and of course,
quick-witted chemistry between these two talented leads.
