(TQ Zondi & Mpilo Nzimande)
Coming
to The Theatre – St Anne’s
College on October 28 is the Hexagon Theatre Production Feedback. A fantastical
murder mystery by Andrew Buckland it is directed by Peter Mitchell and features
TQ Zondi and Mpilo Nzimande.
In
the peculiar logic of playwright Buckland, this is a hilarious, poignant,
lyrical and quirky piece of Physical Theatre. This satirical comedy cunningly
explores topics as diverse as food-consciousness and globalization, and, in the hands of performers Zondi and Nzimande, becomes
an intense action-packed celebration of humanity and mankind’s capacity for
greed and altruism.
The
actors present a rollercoaster ride as they play scores of characters in this
tale of two brothers, a detective, and a host of flying cheeses (amongst other
foodstuffs) pitting their wits against the villainous Grave Brothers.
First
performed by Buckland and Lionel Newton, who won numerous awards for the show,
it has now been given the high-energy off-the-wall treatment by these highly
energetic clowns. The team won an Ovation Award in 2015 for Woza Albert!
and the top award at Musho! 2016 for Termite! Zondi and Nzimande were
nominated as best actors at the recent Cape Town Fringe Festival.
Feedback has one
performance on October 28 at 19h30 at The Theatre – St Anne’s College. Tickets
R70 (R50 concessions). Bookings on 033 343 6100 or twoodgate@stannes.co.za
