The nationally famous tribute band The Black Lapels perform
in Pietermaritzburg tomorrow (December 13) to join in celebrating the end of
the year at Maritzburg Musicians Club's last show for 2016, next week Tuesday
13 December.
The Black Lapels have fast become one of Durban’s most
sought-after bands. With Rob Warren, Garth Warren, Gareth Gale and Luke
Wyngaard, their slick, energetic shows have seen them playing sold-out tribute
shows, corporate events, rock shows, weddings and their one-of-a-kind original
music shows. The demand for the band is built upon their passion for what they
do, their musicality and diversity, the connection between the band members and
their connectivity with the audience.
One can expect to see tributes to Credence Clearwater
Revival, Paul Simon, Chuck Berry and Johnny Cash with The Black Lapels
showcasing their broad repertoire.
Francis Chesco, a post-graduate of the Drama department at
UKZN will be opening with some interesting new sounds on acoustic guitar and
didgeridoo.
Doors open at 19h00. Entrance R40 and a nutritious meal will
be on offer. The home of the Maritzburg Musicians Club, La Casa (formerly The
Red Door) is situated in Quarry Road, off Victoria Road, in Pietermaritzburg.
Car guards on duty. More information from Roger O’Neill on 083 230 6562
