The Maritzburg Musicians Club La Casa offer a romantic
evening to celebrate Valentine’s Day with heartfelt performances by a few local
acts, as well as serving a unique Persian meal by Kishmish.
Brian and Huyton,
the originators of The Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters and the first act to perform
at MMC over 30 years ago, will be singing romantic yet humorous tunes with gentle
harmonies.
Guitarist Kyle Baker
has been playing in bands in and around the Midlands for a few years, including
Gloucester Blues Project, Tuff Gong, Fan the Fire, and Aymira. His solo
performances are an acoustic folky vibe, inspired by Dave Matthews, Ben Harper,
Xavier Rudd, Trevor Hall, etc. His aim is to express emotion through his music,
as authentically as possible.
Jess and Nish have
been a duo since last year performing gigs all over KZN. Jess plays the
acoustic guitar and piano and her incredible singing ability got her to appear
on season 1 of The Voice SA. Nish
plays all types of hand drums including the tabla and has played with many
other artists including the Jack Mantis Band, Larry Amos, Tim Parr, St John
& Tanya and many more.
